Clippers’ Doc Rivers talks to Glen Davis about incident
When the media was let in after the Clippers’ shoot-around on Monday, Glen “Big Baby” Davis was on the court running wind sprints. When his teammates started leaving, Davis stayed and continued shooting after the practice.
It was clear that Davis was getting in some extra work and it also was clear that the run-in the big power forward had with Clippers Coach Doc Rivers on Saturday night in Houston was over.
Rivers said the two had talked, that the issue was resolved and that Davis was expected to play Monday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Rivers had Davis escorted from the team bench and into the locker room during the second quarter of Saturday night’s game in Houston because Davis had become a “distraction” with his behavior.
“Like I told you guys, it wasn’t that big of a deal,” Rivers said. “I just thought that game, he was not right for us. The talk we had was 30 seconds. It wasn’t a long talk.”
Davis, who weighs about 315 pounds, still hasn’t spoken to the media.
He left the locker room early Saturday night and got in extra work Monday in preparation for the game later that night.
