Buccaneers select UCLA’s Caleb Benenoch with the 148th pick in NFL draft
There are two ways to boost a young quarterback’s development. One of those ways is to make sure he stays upright, which is what the Bucs have done since taking Jameis Winston first overall in 2015. They added another big body by taking UCLA’s Caleb Benenoch in the fifth round. Benenoch projects as an athletic swing tackle who can move inside to guard if needed. He’s likely just a backup for now, but he eventually could work his way into the starting lineup or as an eligible tackle in short-yardage situations.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday selected UCLA offensive lineman Caleb Benenoch with ninth pick in the fifth round of the NFL draft, the 148th pick overall.
The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Benenoch left UCLA with a season of eligiblity remaining. He was a three-year starter.

Benenoch is the third Bruins player off the board.
The Packers selected defensive lineman Kenny Clark in the first round with the 27th pick and the Jaguars selected linebacker Myles Jack in the second round with the 36th pick.
