Redskins select USC’s Su’a Cravens with 53rd pick in NFL draft
The first USC player of the 2016 NFL draft is off the board.
With the 22nd selection of the second round Friday, Washington selected former Trojans safety Su’a Cravens, the 53rd overall pick.
Cravens had 52 tackles and four interceptions as a freshman before moving to more of a linebacker role, where he led the team as a sophomore with 17 tackles for loss, including five sacks.
Last season, the 6-foot-1, 225-pounder had 86 tackles, 15 for loss, 5½ sacks and a pair of interceptions.
Earlier in the second round, Jacksonville took UCLA linebacker Myles Jack, who slipped out of the first round over concerns about his surgically repaired knee.
