Big Ten takes over the top 10 in new AP poll

With No. 8 Wisconsin and No. 10 Nebraska moving up in the AP poll this week, the resurgent Big Ten Conference now has four teams in the top 10.
The last time that happened, Dwight D. Eisenhower was still in the White House.
No. 2 Ohio State and No. 4 Michigan held their positions among the top five teams, which remained unchanged with Alabama at No. 1.
The poll was released a day later than usual to accommodate for the Georgia-South Carolina game, which was shifted to Sunday because of Hurricane Matthew.
As it turned out, Georgia’s 28-14 victory wasn’t enough to move the Bulldogs out of the “others receiving votes” category.
Though Washington held at No. 5 and Utah rose to No. 21, Monday’s poll brought more bad news for the Pac-12 Conference, with Stanford and Colorado dropping out of the rankings.
