It’s become a holiday tradition rivaling Christmas stockings and letters to Santa.

Transfer portal season is here.

The window for undergraduate college football players to enter the transfer portal opens Dec. 9 and closes Dec. 28, with coaches looking to snag as many stars as their name, image and likeness funds allow.

Here’s a look at the players coming and going from USC and UCLA listed in most recent order of their announcements via social media and media reports, with the caveat that players listed as entering the portal can potentially stay at their current schools if they do not find another landing spot.

Coming to UCLA: Ty’Kieast Crawford | Offensive line

(Michael Woods / Associated Press)

Former schools: Arkansas, Charlotte

Size: 6-5, 324 pounds

Class in 2025: Graduate transfer

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Crawford was a part-time starter in four seasons with the Razorbacks, though he appeared in only one game in 2024 while being listed as a reserve right guard on the team’s depth chart. The previous season, he started one game at right guard and the final three games at right tackle. A consensus four-star high school prospect, Crawford spent his freshman season at Charlotte in 2020 before transferring to Arkansas.

Coming to USC: Sam Huard | Quarterback

With its plans next season at quarterback uncertain, USC is adding a former top prospect — and a familiar face — to the mix at the position.

Sam Huard started his career as a coveted, five-star quarterback prospect at Washington, before playing one season at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, then sitting out another because of injury at Utah.

Now he’s headed to USC, where he’ll join a position group led by his uncle, Trojans quarterbacks coach Luke Huard. Sam Huard announced his commitment Monday in a post on social media.

Coming to USC: Waymond Jordan Jr. | Running back

Previous school: Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College

Size: 5-10, 205 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three, pending junior college eligibility ruling

Buzz: The No. 1 junior college running back available in the transfer portal, Jordan was the bell-cow back on a national championship offense at Hutchinson CC, rushing for 20 touchdowns last season. He joins a suddenly crowded backfield that includes fellow transfer Eli Sanders from New Mexico and rising sophomore Bryan Jackson, who led USC’s rushing attack during the Las Vegas Bowl. Jordan could have the inside track in that rotation.

Coming to USC: DJ Wingfield | Offensive lineman

Former schools: Purdue, New Mexico

Size: 6-4, 316 pounds

Class in 2025: Graduate transfer

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One, pending junior college eligibility ruling

Buzz: USC desperately needed reinforcements up front, especially after losing Emmanuel Pregnon last week, and in that sense, Wingfield is a critical addition. He played right guard for Purdue this past season after playing the previous season at right tackle. Where he’ll slot in at USC is unclear, but it seems likely he’d step in on the interior. The question is whether he’ll beat out other young linemen vying for those spots. He was hit or miss on the interior at Purdue.

Leaving USC: Charles Ross | Wide receiver

(Ryan Sun / Associated Press)

Size: 6-1, 165 pounds

Class in 2025: Graduate transfer

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: When he joined USC last offseason, Ross said he’d come specifically because Lincoln Riley thought he could have an influence. That’s not how it worked out. Ross only played in three games and caught one pass for 11 yards. But after starting his college career at Nevada, then transferring to San Jose State and eventually coming to USC, he’ll finish his college career at Purdue, where he’ll reunite with USC’s former offensive coordinator Josh Henson.

Not long after his return was lauded as a major coup for Lincoln Riley and USC, the Trojans’ top returning lineman has decided instead to enter the transfer portal.

It was just a few weeks ago that new offensive line coach Zach Hanson proudly announced in his first meeting with reporters that Emmanuel Pregnon, the Trojans’ two-year starting left guard, was coming back to anchor a young USC offensive line. But after playing in the Trojans’ bowl win over Texas A&M, Pregnon decided to continue his college career elsewhere.

The unexpected reversal caps an unusual month for Pregnon, who was widely expected to declare for the NFL draft after the 2024 season. In late November, after earning second-team All-Big Ten honors, Pregnon even accepted an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl, suggesting even further that he planned to declare.

Coming to UCLA: Joey Aguilar | Quarterback

(Jacob Kupferman / Associated Press)

Former school: Appalachian State

Size: 6-3, 220 pounds

Class in 2025: Graduate transfer

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: While Aguilar put up prolific numbers in his two seasons at Appalachian State — he threw for 6,760 yards with 56 touchdowns and 24 interceptions — they weren’t nearly as good in 2024, when he passed for 3,003 yards with 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. In addition to a strong arm, Aguilar also has some good mobility, giving him the ability to escape pressure and gain yardage on designed quarterback runs. Barring the addition of another veteran transfer quarterback, Aguilar will likely be the Bruins’ starting quarterback given the inexperience of the other candidates at the position; no one else on the current roster has thrown a pass at the college level.

(Butch Dill / Associated Press)

Former schools: California, Utah

Size: 5-9, 180 pounds

Class in 2025: Junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: The Bruins might have found their next punt returner, not to mention an addition to their deep receiving corps, in the speedy transfer who will be making his third college stop in as many years. Last season at Cal, Matthews caught 32 passes for 272 yards and a touchdown. He also returned 16 punts for 67 yards, including a 14-yard return against UC Davis.

Coming to USC: Caden Chittenden | Kicker

(Mark Ylen / Associated Press)

Former school: Nevada Las Vegas

Size: 5-11, 175 pounds

Class in 2025: Sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: One of the best kickers available in the transfer portal, Chittenden hit 24 of 30 field goals on his way to being a first team Mountain West selection. With Michael Lantz out of eligibility, Chittenden should step in as USC’s primary kicker and kickoff specialist from Day 1.

Coming to USC: Jamaal Jarrett | Defensive tackle

(Todd Kirkland / Getty Images)

Former school: Georgia

Size: 6-5, 350 pounds

Class in 2025: Junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: Another massive addition — literally — to USC’s defensive interior, Jarrett steps in as the biggest player on the Trojans’ roster. Jarrett didn’t make much of an impact on Georgia’s stacked defense, tallying just nine tackles in two years. But USC, which can use all the depth it can get up front, is betting on his measurables making a difference.

Coming to USC: Keeshawn Silver | Defensive tackle

Kentucky defensive lineman Keeshawn Silver warms up before a game against Florida in October.
(Gary McCullough / Associated Press)

Former schools: Kentucky, North Carolina

Size: 6-4, 336 pounds

Class in 2025: Senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: USC desperately needed to add size and athleticism to the interior of its line, and Silver checks both of those boxes. A former five-star prospect in the class of 2021, Silver was one of the better nose tackles in the SEC last season. He’ll immediately step into a key role in the middle of USC’s defense.

Coming to UCLA: Robert Stafford III | Defensive back

(Ric Tapia / Getty Images)

Former school: Miami (Fla.)

Size: 5-11, 175 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: A former four-star high school prospect from Melbourne, Fla., Stafford played mostly on special teams last season and was on the field for 31 snaps as a defensive back. He made seven tackles and had one pass breakup.

Coming to UCLA: Scooter Jackson | Defensive back

Former school: Utah Tech

Size: 6-1, 175 pounds

Class in 2025: Junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: This represents a big move up for the Downey native who starred at Warren High before spending his first two college seasons in the Football Championship Subdivision. Among others on UCLA’s staff, Jackson was pursued by director of player personnel Stacey Ford, who was defensive coordinator at Warren when Jackson played there. After playing in only five games as a freshman because of injuries, Jackson contributed in a variety of ways last season, making 37 tackles, breaking up five passes, blocking a kick and intercepting a pass.

Coming to UCLA: Isaiah Chisom | Linebacker

(Steve Conner / Associated Press)

Former school: Oregon State

Size: 6-1, 220 pounds

Class in 2025: Sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: A member of The Athletic’s midseason freshman All-America team, Chisom started 11 games in his first college season and finished second on the Beavers with 75 tackles, including five for losses. He should immediately contend for one of the Bruins’ two available starting spots at linebacker. The move to Southern California will also be a homecoming for the Santa Clarita native who played at Chaminade College Prep.

Coming to UCLA: Cole Martin | Defensive back

(Rick Scuteri / Associated Press)

Former schools: Arizona State, Oregon

Size: 5-10, 180 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: Martin is coming back to Southern California to play for his father, Demetrice, the Bruins’ new secondary coach who is making his own return after having spent six seasons under former UCLA coach Jim Mora. Cole’s 2024 season was cut short after only two games by a hip injury. He had gotten off to a good start with four tackles and one pass breakup as the backup nickel. During his freshman season at Oregon, Cole made 21 tackles and intercepted a pass.

Coming to UCLA: Ashton Sanders | Defensive tackle

(Sue Ogrocki / Associated Press)

Former school: Oklahoma

Size: 6-1, 297 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: The Pasadena native is coming home after playing sparingly in his two seasons with the Sooners. In 12 games, Sanders made two tackles. He was a three-star prospect coming out of Cathedral High and will be among a slew of transfers seeking a far bigger role with the Bruins.

Coming to UCLA: Nico Davillier | Defensive line

(Michael Woods / Associated Press)

Former school: Arkansas

Size: 6-4, 271 pounds

Class in 2025: Senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Davillier just completed his most productive college season, making 23 tackles and one sack in eight games for the Razorbacks. He could play a variety of roles for the Bruins after having also played on special teams at Arkansas.

(Ashley Landis / Associated Press)

Former school: Louisville

Size: 6-2, 185 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: The former St. John Bosco High star spent the 2023 season recovering from surgery to repair an Achilles injury before playing sparingly last season, appearing in four games and making one tackle. He’ll have an opportunity for a far bigger role with the Bruins.

Coming to UCLA: Eugene Brooks | Offensive line

Former school: Oklahoma

Size: 6-3, 336 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Four

Buzz: A four-star prospect out of Sierra Canyon High, Brooks appeared in only four games — all on special teams — in his first college season, preserving his eligibility as a redshirt. He’ll compete for a starting spot on the interior of UCLA’s offensive line with guards Josh Carlin and Spencer Holstege having exhausted their eligibility.

Coming to USC: Eli Sanders | Running back

(Roberto E. Rosales / Associated Press)

Previous schools: New Mexico, Iowa State

Size: 5-11, 194 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: After a week-long wait with little momentum, USC has its next transfer back to take the reins. Sanders averaged over seven yards per carry last season as part of a dynamic New Mexico rushing attack that ranked fourth in the nation. Sanders rushed for 1,063 yards and nine touchdowns in that role. And while he isn’t nearly the receiver that Woody Marks was, he seems capable in that department as well.

Zachariah and Zion Branch will enter transfer portal, dealing USC a substantial blow

Wide receiver Zachariah Branch reacts after teammate Duce Robinson scores during a game against Nebraska last month.
(Gina Ferazzi / Los Angeles Times)

Zachariah Branch, USC’s electric sophomore receiver and returner, and his older brother Zion, who plays safety for the Trojans, are planning to enter the transfer portal, a person familiar with the decision but not authorized to speak publicly told The Times, becoming the latest lauded prospects to join the exodus from Troy.

When the two brothers signed to play at USC — Zion in 2022 and Zachariah in 2023 — their separate arrivals were seen as landmark recruiting victories for Trojans coach Lincoln Riley. Zachariah Branch was a top-10 recruit and the nation’s No. 1 receiver prospect. Zion was no slouch, either — a four-star safety who checked in at 58th overall in the 2022 class.

Now as they depart USC, the Branch brothers will be no doubt two of the most coveted players in the transfer portal, with both expected to sign with their new team together.

Coming to UCLA: Key Lawrence | Safety

(Aaron Doster / Associated Press)

Former schools: Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Tennessee

Size: 6-1, 195 pounds

Class in 2025: Graduate transfer

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Once the top-ranked high school prospect in Tennessee in the Class of 2020, Lawrence will be making his fourth college stop after spending one season at Tennessee, three at Oklahoma and one at Ole Miss. He redshirted last season with the Rebels, preserving his final season of eligibility. As a part-time starter with the Sooners, Lawrence made three interceptions and was an All-Big 12 honorable mention selection by conference coaches in 2021.

Coming to UCLA: Ka’eo Akana | Edge rusher

Former school: Utah

Size: 6-3, 233 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: Akana will be vying to make a bigger impact at a position of need for the Bruins after playing in three games on special teams last season for the Utes. A three-star high school prospect from Honolulu, Akana redshirted his first season at Utah before playing in eight games — mostly on special teams — as a redshirt freshman, making one tackle against Baylor.

Coming to UCLA: Bryon Threats | Safety

(Phelan M. Ebenhack / Associated Press)

Previous schools: Central Florida, Cincinnati

Size: 5-10, 195 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Threats played a few games before redshirting last season at Central Florida. He was a big part of Cincinnati’s secondary the previous three seasons, helping the Bearcats reach the College Football Playoff in 2021 as a reserve. He went on to start 10 games in 2022 and nine games in 2023, making two interceptions and six pass breakups in his final seasons with the Bearcats. Threats is a candidate to start immediately in a UCLA secondary losing every starter.

Leaving UCLA: Tavake Tuikolovatu | Offensive line

Size: 6-6, 295 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: Tuikolovatu appeared in every game last season, making one start against Minnesota, after having redshirted in 2023. He was used as a sixth offensive lineman on some plays to try to enhance the blocking for one of the nation’s worst run offenses.

Leaving UCLA: Chase Barry | Punter

Size: 6-5, 205 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: After losing a battle with Brody Richter for the starting punter’s job, Barry did not make any punts after getting two in the season opener against Hawaii. That left him to serve as the holder on Mateen Bhaghani’s kicks, a role that Barry executed well in helping Bhaghani emerge as one of the best kickers in the Big Ten.

Coming to UCLA: Courtland Ford | Offensive tackle

USC offensive lineman Courtland Ford plays against San José State in September 2021.
(John McCoy / Associated Press)

Former schools: Kentucky, USC

Size: 6-6, 327 pounds

Class in 2025: Graduate transfer

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: This will be a return to Southern California for the offensive lineman who started his college career at USC before transferring to Kentucky after three seasons. Ford’s biggest impact came with the Trojans, where he started 11 games at left tackle. At Kentucky, Ford started two games at right tackle and played in every game in 2023 before injuries limited his time on the field last season.

Leaving UCLA: Jaylin Davies | Cornerback

(Chris Pietsch / Associated Press)

Size: 6-0, 180 pounds

Class in 2025: Graduate transfer

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Davies was a mainstay in the secondary in his three seasons at UCLA, though he lost his starting spot late in the 2024 season and came off the bench over the final four games. He finished his final season as a Bruin with 30 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks and two pass breakups. Davies’ next stop will be his third after he spent his first college season at Oregon.

Coming to USC: DJ Harvey | Cornerback

(David Madison / Getty Images)

Former school: San José State

Size: 5-11 174 pounds

Class in 2025: Junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: The Palmdale native had 58 tackles and four interceptions during a breakout season as San José State’s top corner. Considering that USC is losing its top four corners, Harvey should get plenty of opportunity in L.A. Pro Football Focus rated him with a top-10 coverage grade in all of college football last season.

Coming to UCLA: Andre Jordan Jr. | Cornerback

(Mark Ylen / Associated Press)

Former school: Oregon State

Size: 6-1, 183 pounds

Class in 2025: Junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: Jordan became a starter in only his second college season in 2024, showing a tendency to make plays in bunches. He tallied three pass breakups against Nevada Las Vegas and had two tackles for loss against Colorado State. Given UCLA’s departures in the secondary, Jordan should be a candidate to start immediately.

Coming to UCLA: Benjamin Perry | Safety

(Timothy D. Easley / Associated Press)

Former school: Louisville

Size: 6-3, 205 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Perry fills one of the Bruins’ biggest positions of need and projects as a likely starter in 2025 after playing in every game for Louisville last season despite a neck injury that sent him to the hospital in early November. He had 29 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks while forcing one fumble in his final season with the Cardinals.

Former school: Florida State

Size: 6-6, 325 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: A former five-star high school prospect from Miami, Armella will seek a bigger role with the Bruins after spending his three seasons with the Seminoles as a backup. He was not listed on the team’s two-deep but appeared in seven games last season, up from six in 2023 and four in 2022. His father, Enzo Armella, was a nose guard on Florida State’s 1993 national championship team.

Leaving USC: Raesjon Davis | Linebacker

(Gina Ferazzi / Los Angeles Times)

Size: 6-0, 220 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: When Davis decided to sit out the rest of this season to preserve his redshirt, the plan was for him to stay at USC. But then, linebackers coach Matt Entz left to be the head coach at Fresno State, and plans changed. A former top-100 recruit out of Mater Dei, Davis always seemed on the edge of a breakout, but never really found his stride at USC. A change of scenery should make a difference for Davis. A reunion with Entz could even be in order.

Leaving USC: Kalolo Ta’aga | Offensive tackle

Size: 6-7, 315 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt freshman

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Four

Buzz: Ta’aga didn’t play at all as a freshman, but the former three-star recruit would have provided some depth next season at a position where USC is in desperate need of bodies. He may have had a hard time standing out among that group, with several other freshman tackles already ahead of him on the depth chart.

Leaving USC: DJ Peevy | Defensive lineman

Size: 6-3, 260 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: Peevy arrived at USC as a four-star edge rusher and put on 30 pounds to play on the Trojans defensive line. But he redshirted as a freshman and never played as a sophomore. Once one of the top-25 recruits in the state of California, Peevy will try to get a chance elsewhere to show he still has that high-level potential.

Leaving UCLA: J.Michael Sturdivant | Wide receiver

UCLA wide receiver J.Michael Sturdivant (1) celebrates after scoring a touchdown against Coastal Carolina in September 2023.
(Mark J. Terrill / Associated Press)

Size: 6-3, 205 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: After being underutilized for much of his two seasons as a Bruin, Sturdivant is seeking a new home, not to mention a likely raise in name, image and likeness income. His combination of size and speed made him a constant deep threat. Curiously, he was rarely targeted in a handful of games and finished his two seasons in Westwood with fewer catches combined (58) than he made in his final season at California (65) in 2022. His top games in 2024 came against Minnesota (seven catches for 107 yards and a touchdown) and USC (five catches for 117 yards).

Leaving USC: Duce Robinson | Wide receiver

(Gina Ferazzi / Los Angeles Times)

Size: 6-6, 220 pounds

Class in 2025: Junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: A former five-star recruit, Robinson has all the tools to be a dominant downfield receiver. And as a sophomore, he looked as though he was on the brink of a breakout. But he never quite reached that ceiling in two years with the Trojans. Robinson, who also played baseball at USC, caught 23 passes for 396 yards and five touchdowns this season. The five scores ranked second on the team, while Robinson’s 17.2 yards per catch led all Trojan pass catchers.

Leaving UCLA: Niki Prongos | Left tackle

UCLA's Niki Prongos lines up before a snap against Hawaii in August.
(Isabella Serafini / UCLA Athletics)

Size: 6-7, 285 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: Prongos was one of the feel-good stories of the Bruins’ season, rising from walk-on to NFL prospect after being made a starter at right tackle in the season opener and shifting to starting left tackle in the fifth game. His success helped stabilize an offensive line that was one of the team’s weaknesses. An injury sidelined Prongos for the final three games but is not expected to have any long-term consequences. His combination of size, strength and technique will likely make him a starter wherever he ends up.

(Godofredo A. Vásquez / Associated Press)

Size: 6-5, 315 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Murphy walked with the rest of USC’s graduating players at Senior Day, so his decision to leave doesn’t come as a total surprise. Still, losing a two-year starter from an already thin offensive line room is a tough pill to swallow. Murphy started every game in 2024 — and allowed three or more pressures in six of USC’s 12 games.

Leaving USC: Quinten Joyner | Running back

(Robert Gauthier / Los Angeles Times)

Size: 5-11, 216 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: Losing Joyner, who was all set to step in as the Trojans’ top back, is a gut punch to USC’s offense. Joyner averaged 7.3 yards per carry behind All-Big Ten back Woody Marks in USC’s backfield, but never received more than 10 carries in a game. During seven of 12 games this season, Joyner had four or fewer carries. He still rushed for 465 yards and three touchdowns this season, saving his best for last against Notre Dame (10 carries, 83 yards). Perhaps Lincoln Riley wishes now that he would’ve gotten him more involved sooner. Joyner will be in high demand now.

(Kyusung Gong / Associated Press)

Size: 6-1, 255 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt freshman

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: This is an unexpected one. Greene was coming on strong for USC’s defense down the stretch, as D’Anton Lynn turned to youth on the edge, with Greene and defensive end Kameryn Fountain providing most of the pressure. Greene looked primed for a much larger role next season. Now that season will be elsewhere.

Size: 6-4, 250 pounds

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: Eldridge played a lot of snaps this season, filling in for injured lead tight end Lake McRee. But by the last month, he’d been passed over on the depth chart by freshman Walker Lyons. Eldridge caught just three passes for 19 yards this season, and there were several other tight ends set to climb the depth chart behind him.

Buzz: Talent has never been a question for Alexander, a former five-star prospect who has looked in spurts like a future NFL game wrecker on the interior. But Alexander started to lose time this season and left USC after three games. The upside is tantalizing as a transfer, but he’ll be enrolling in his eighth school — between high school and college — in seven years.

(Meg Oliphant / Los Angeles Times)

Size: 6-1, 225 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: Carlson spent his time at UCLA trying to work his way up the depth chart in a crowded running backs room, never making a carry during his two seasons. He appeared in one game as a freshman and two games as a redshirt freshman but did not log any statistics.

Leaving UCLA: Deshun Murrell | Running back

(Ashley Landis / Associated Press)

Size: 5-11, 200 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two or three

Buzz: After generating some buzz when he picked UCLA over Penn State and other powerhouse programs, Murrell never got much of a chance to show what he could do as a Bruin. Injuries were the primary culprit, back-to-back setbacks with an Achilles tendon sidelining him for the last two seasons. In his only appearance, Murrell rushed six times for 34 yards against Alabama State in 2022. Murrell will have three seasons of eligibility left if he’s granted another medical redshirt season.

Leaving UCLA: David Dellenbach | Kicker

Size: 6-2, 180 pounds

Class in 2025: Sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Four

Buzz: Dellenbach becomes the second UCLA kicker to depart, joining Joseph Firebaugh Jr., after Mateen Bhaghani established himself as one of the best players at the position in the country. Dellenbach did not record any statistics during his one season in the program.

(Gina Ferazzi / Los Angeles Times)

Size: 6-1, 205 pounds

Class in 2025: Senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: The Trojans’ most-tenured receiver never quite established himself as the go-to guy in USC’s passing attack. But during an uneven season for USC’s receivers, Hudson was a steadying force, third in catches (38), yards (462) and touchdowns (3). He leaves behind a legacy of one-handed catches that should live on in USC highlight reels.

Leaving USC: Jake Jensen | Quarterback

(John McCoy / Associated Press)

Size: 6-1, 212 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Jensen came to USC via the junior college ranks and for three seasons served as depth at quarterback. Jensen has had only limited action since, the latest of which came in a failed QB keeper in the red zone against Notre Dame. He’ll be looking for a chance to contribute wherever he ends up.

(Ryan Sun / Associated Press)

Size: 6-4, 200 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: Having produced some of the top highlight catches of spring practice and fall training camp in recent years thanks to an enticing combination of size and athleticism, Pegan never was able to replicate those plays in games. He didn’t play this season because of injuries but appeared in nine games in 2023, making one catch against California. If he can stay healthy, Pegan would be a candidate for a breakthrough season in 2025.

Size: 6-1, 200 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: Stephens spent his entire time in Westwood vying to move up the depth chart. He appeared in only one game in each of his three seasons after arriving at UCLA as a four-star prospect out of Inglewood High. His lone highlight came early in the 2023 season, when he made two tackles against North Carolina Central.

(Meg Oliphant / Los Angeles Times)

Size: 6-0, 205 pounds

Class in 2025: Graduate transfer

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: Repeated injuries curtailed the converted wide receiver’s opportunity to make a bigger impact after he showed some promise with an interception in the season opener against Hawaii. The son of three-time All-Star outfielder David Justice, D.J. played in only three games in 2024 and six games in 2023 because of injuries.

(Amanda Loman / Associated Press)

Size: 5-11, 185 pounds

Class in 2025: Graduate transfer

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: One of the team’s top receivers and possibly its most sure-handed player, Loya established himself as a reliable and productive target during his five seasons with the Bruins. He was the team’s leading receiver in 2023 with 59 catches for 655 yards and five touchdowns before his production dipped a year later amid the arrival of several other receivers who were prioritized as part of new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s scheme. Loya finished the 2024 season with 29 catches for 348 yards and four touchdowns, making him an attractive target for any offense in what will be his final college season.

Leaving UCLA: Joseph Firebaugh Jr. | Kicker

(Gerald Herbert / Associated Press)

Size: 6-2, 195 pounds

Class in 2025: Graduate transfer

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: The emergence of Mateen Bhaghani as one of the nation’s top kickers left no discernible role for Firebaugh, who played sparingly during his three seasons with the Bruins. In 2022, Firebaugh converted an extra point against Colorado and another one against Alabama State, in addition to making a kickoff in the latter game.

Leaving USC: Denis Lynch | Kicker

Size: 5-8, 185 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Lynch was USC’s starting kicker for two seasons before he was passed up by transfer Michael Lantz in 2024. He was automatic on extra points, missing just one of his 140 attempts between 2022 and 2023 but plagued by inconsistency on field goals. He hit just 25 of 46 during his stint as the Trojans’ kicker.

Leaving USC: Gino Quinones | Offensive guard

Size: 6-3, 302 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One, maybe two

Buzz: Another interior lineman is out the door for USC. Quinones was one of the few players still left from the Clay Helton era — and the Trojans’ most experienced interior lineman. But injuries derailed his last two seasons, just as he was expected to compete for a starting job. He can slot in at either center or guard. He may have two years of eligibility because of injury, pending a decision from the NCAA.

Leaving USC: Amos Talalele | Offensive guard

(Gina Ferazzi / Los Angeles Times)

Size: 6-4, 340 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Three

Buzz: Talalele lost a competition last August to start for USC at right guard and played in a reserve role most of last season. But his decision to leave probably comes as a surprise to USC’s staff. Talalele was expected to step into a starting spot next season. He’ll try to find that elsewhere, while USC finds itself dangerously thin on the interior of its offensive line.

Leaving UCLA: T.J. Harden | Running back

(Ryan Sun / Associated Press)

Size: 6-2, 220 pounds

Class in 2025: Senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Harden took a considerable step back in production this season, though a big part of his regression was attributable to the struggles of UCLA’s offensive line. After running for 827 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023 as a part-time starter, Harden managed just 506 yards and two touchdowns in 2024 as the featured running back. His average yards per carry also declined from 5.3 in 2023 to 4.1 in 2024, and he only topped 100 yards in a game once during the latter season.

Leaving UCLA: Justyn Martin | Quarterback

(Barry Reeger / Associated Press)

Size: 6-4, 220 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt junior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Two

Buzz: Having been a fourth-stringer just a year ago, Martin was on track to compete for UCLA’s starting job after impressing in a spot start on the road against Penn State. Filling in for injured teammate Ethan Garbers, Martin completed 22 of 30 passes for 167 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions against the Nittany Lions. Now, the dual-threat quarterback will presumably take his talents elsewhere, leaving the Bruins in need of a veteran transfer.

(John Raoux / Associated Press)

Size: 6-3, 178 pounds

Former school: Arkansas

Class in 2025: Redshirt senior

Seasons of eligibility remaining: One

Buzz: Big things were expected from Wilson after he scored Arkansas’ first touchdown of the 2023 season on a 65-yard screen pass against Western Carolina. But he never made more than three catches in a game that season and plummeted on the depth chart. He played eight snaps and logged no statistics during the Razorbacks’ 70-0 victory over Arkansas Pine Bluff to open 2024, sending him into the transfer portal. At UCLA, he’ll be fighting for playing time at one of the deepest positions on the team.

Leaving USC: Miller Moss | Quarterback

(Gina Ferazzi / Los Angeles Times)

Ever since he was a boy, Miller Moss dreamed of being USC’s starting quarterback. He followed that dream as a touted prospect into a crowded quarterback room at USC. And he waited three years as a backup, biding his time as many others in his class bolted for the transfer portal instead.

Moss’ chance to lead USC’s offense lasted through one outstanding bowl performance and nine games of an up-and-down season before Moss was replaced by his own backup, and the window at his dream school had closed suddenly.

By Monday morning, three weeks after he was replaced, Moss made it official that he plans to enter the transfer portal, leaving USC after four seasons.

(Wilfredo Lee / Associated Press)

Size: 6-7, 270 pounds

Class in 2025: Redshirt sophomore

Seasons of eligibility remaining: Four

Buzz: A four-star prospect out of Santa Margarita High, Acheampong was expected to bolster the Bruins’ defensive line after spending one season redshirting at Miami (Fla.). But he spent most of the season recovering from injuries and never appeared in a game. His next college snap will be his first.
