Time Warner Cable SportsNet is scheduled to air a “special tribute to the life and legacy of Dr. Jerry Buss” on Wednesday’s episode of “Backstage: Lakers.”
Buss died last week after a lengthy battle with an undisclosed form of cancer.
Set to air at 5 p.m., the behind-the-scenes look at the Lakers will “feature highlights from last week’s memorial service for Dr. Buss,” the channel said in a release.
The program will also show moments from Wednesday’s pre-game ceremony honoring Buss, prior to the Lakers’ 113-99 win over the Boston Celtics, it said.
Also, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, A.C. Green, Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak, former coaches Pat Riley and Mike Dunleavy and other “Lakers personalities” will share their memories of the Lakers’ owner, it said.
Buss won 10 titles with the Lakers after purchasing the team in 1979.
