Update: The Sparks have lost the first four games on their seven-game trip. They are one of two teams that has not won on the road and they have fallen to fifth place in the six-team Western Conference. Both the Sparks and the Storm are playing without their injured star players — Candace Parker (the 2008 WNBA most valuable player) and Lauren Jackson (the reigning MVP). The Storm is led by Sue Bird and Swin Cash, who are each averaging 15.3 points. When the teams played June 19 at Staples Center, the Sparks won, 74-50.
