Former Harvard-Westlake soccer player Matthew Glick creates sports video highlights app, ‘Gipper’
Matthew Glick used to be the team captain and a first-team All-Mission League soccer player at Harvard-Westlake. During his senior year in entrepreneur class, he came up with the idea of a way to promote community sports through a sports video highlights app.
It’s named Gipper and it became available for free on Monday for iOS and in the Apple Store.
Glick, who’s a sophomore soccer player at Colgate, said he wanted a way to share his highlights in high school.
In an email, Glick said Gipper “provides a place to celebrate the best moments at all levels of competition, from high school to professional matches or even backyard pick-up games.”
“Gipper allows you to upload sports highlights, tag and search by sport and/or high school and share. With features like one-touch-slo-mo, Gipper allows you to share and relive the most exciting sports moments.”
Glick knows something about social media. He was Harvard-Westlake’s Head Fanatic, which is the school’s cheering section.
He’s now CEO/Founder of Gipper Media, Inc. And still a soccer player.
