Football: St. John Bosco prepares for big test in Las Vegas
It’s a business trip in Las Vegas
In a hotel ballroom on Friday in Las Vegas, St. John Bosco offensive coordinator Chad Johnson was typing away on his computer, finalizing the game plan for Friday’s 6 p.m. nationally televised game against Bishop Gorman on ESPN. Quarterback Josh Rosen was at his side. The two were collaborating and testing each other.
It’s almost a college-like experience for the players in this two-day trip in Las Vegas. They have work to do and closely follow an itinerary. The position coaches were reviewing plays and going through final preparation before taking a bus from the Palace Station Hotel to Bishop Gorman.
At a team mass, players took a moment to come together and remind themselves about the importance of everyone supporting each other. Coach Jason Negro reminded his players that they have experienced big games in the past and it all comes down to “there’s only one team that can beat us _ us.”
“Let’s make St. John Bosco a household name for years to come,” he told his players.
