Football: Ryan Huisenga is new coach at Moorpark
Former Moorpark quarterback Ryan Huisenga has been named football coach at his alma mater. He replaces Tim Lins, who was head coach for 18 years. Lins will stay on as strength coach.
Huisenga started for the Musketeers in 1990 and 1991. He has worked as an assistant coach at Moorpark for six of the last seven years. In 2015, he was a receivers coach at Cal Lutheran.
“I know it may sound insincere, but actually becoming head coach of my high school football team is something I’ve been thinking about since I first put on pads,” he said. “I’ve lived here all my life.”
