Football: Ron Gueringer finds success at San Gorgonio after being at Crespi years ago
- Share via
It was 17 years ago that Ron Gueringer got his “dream job,” replacing Tim Lins as football coach at Crespi. He had been an assistant twice for the Celts. He even had been head coach at Corona Centennial in the 1990s before Matt Logan arrived.
His two years at Crespi didn’t go well. The team went 1-19 and they parted ways.
In 2009, he arrived at San Gorgonio. This past weekend, San Gorgonio won the Southern Section Division 7 championship.
Gueringer, who played for UCLA and once was an assistant to Bill Redell at Crespi and later was an assistant to Logan, has found his niche.
It’s good to see a good man get another chance.
