Football: El Camino Real turns to Ladell Atkins, Wes Crockett
- Share via
El Camino Real can’t wait to unleash running back Ladell Atkins and quarterback Wes Crocket for their senior seasons.
Woodland Hills is one of the hottest places to work out in the San Fernando Valley, but the heat isn’t preventing the two from preparing for a season that has the Conquistadores expected to be one of the top teams in the West Valley League.
Crocket was just starting to develop when the season ended. He’s a threat to run and pass.
Atkins emerged as an All-City running back, rushing for 1,460 yards and 15 touchdowns. He had 194 yards against Granada Hills; 395 yards against Taft; 218 yards against Cleveland; 212 yards against Chatsworth; 143 yards against Birmingham and 103 yards against Garfield.
El Camino Real opens its season Aug. 26 at home against La Salle.
