Boys’ basketball: La Salle is hosting large tournament
Pasadena La Salle is hosting one of the many basketball tournaments this week. It’s the SoCal Christmas Classic. There will be different regions. It begins on Friday.
The best opening game has Bell-Jeff, winner of its tournament, taking on defending City Section champion El Camino Real at 7 p.m. at Campbell Hall.
At La Salle, Concord De La Salle plays Eagle Rock at 7 p.m. and La Salle takes on Washington Lakeside at 8:30 p.m.
At Price, Bishop Montgomery plays Venice at 5:30 p.m. with Palisades facing St. Bernard at 7 and Price playing Bernstein at 8:30 p.m.
At Village Christian, games begin at 4 p.m. and include West Ranch-Stockdale at 5:30 p.m. and Granada Hills-Highland at 7 p.m. If you want to see high scoring Bennie Boatwright, he plays at 8:30 p.m. when it’s Village Christian facing Providence.
