Baseball: Jack Flaherty, Jacob Nix, Scott Hurst make USA 18U national team

Three standout senior baseball players from Southern California _ Jack Flaherty of Harvard-Westlake, Jacob Nix of Los Alamitos and Scott Hurst of Bishop Amat _ have made the final 20-man roster for the USA 18U national baseball team after team trials at Cal State Fullerton.
They will travel to Taiwan beginning Aug. 30 for the IBAF Junior “AAA”/18U World Cup in Taichung. Medal round starts on Sept 8.
Flaherty, a pitcher-infielder, is committed to North Carolina. Nix, a pitcher, is committed to UCLA. Hurst, an outfielder, is committed to Cal State Fullerton.
