Cole Norris, a 6-foot-1 junior quarterback at Newport Harbor, isn’t going to forget about what happened on Friday night for a very long time, if ever.
Norris completed 36 of 63 passes for 474 yards and five touchdowns to lead Newport Harbor to a 49-48 win over top-seeded La Habra in a quarterfinal game of the Southeast Division playoffs.
He passed 16 yards to Quest Truxton for a game-winning touchdown with 50 seconds left.
“It’s going to be one of those that people are going to talk about,” Newport Harbor Coach Jeff Brinkley told the Daily Pilot.
Truxton caught 14 passes for 233 yards and four touchdowns.
