Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson asks Rams for tryout

The 2016 Major League Baseball season ended in historic fashion Wednesday with the Chicago Cubs clinching their first World Series title since 1908. While most players spend their off-season basking in the free time with family and friends, or preparing for spring training, one Dodger has a different plan.

Outfielder Joc Pederson has been reminiscing about his high school football days on social media, and tweeted the Rams on Thursday about a tryout — similar to what the New York Mets gave Tim Tebow.

Pederson’s alma mater, Palo Alto High School, chimed in with a photo of its alum during his football-playing days.

The Rams seemed fine with it, but wanted to make sure the Dodgers were giving the green light.

But the Dodgers weren’t buying it.

Pederson was Palo Alto High’s “Male Athlete of the Year” in 2010. At the time of the award, he led in runs, steals, slugging percentage and OBP on the baseball diamond, and team receptions, touchdowns and yards on the football field.

Pederson made some amazing catches this past season so maybe a shot at making the Rams roster isn’t the worst idea Twitter ever pushed.
