All-time Angels team beats Dodgers in best-of-seven simulation game

The Angels can claim bragging rights in Los Angeles, or at least claim fantasy bragging rights, as their all-time team defeated the L.A. Dodgers team in a best-of-seven series held online over the weekend.
The teams were chosen by readers of The Times website in a series of polls conducted over a two-week period. Those teams were then matched up using the online simulation game, Dynasty League Baseball, with Times assistant sports editor Houston Mitchell managing the Dodgers and Dynasty League game designer Mike Cieslinski managing the Angels.
The series went the distance, with the Angels winning Game 7 on the strength of a solo pinch-hit home run by Garret Anderson in the top of the ninth off of Kenley Jansen. You can view complete box scores and game recaps at latimes.com/sports Monday morning. A quick recap of the seven games:
Game 1: Angels 2, at Dodgers 1. Nolan Ryan pitched a four-hitter and struck out 12, outpitching Sandy Koufax, who struck out 11. Box score
Game 2: Angels 6, at Dodgers 3. Mike Trout and Troy Glaus keyed a three-run seventh inning with a triple and home run off losing pitcher Don Drysdale. Box score
Game 3: Dodgers 6, at Angels 4. Dusty Baker and Adrian Beltre homered off Jered Weaver to make a winner of Jansen. Eric Gagne picked up the save. Box score
Game 4: at Angels 7, Dodgers 4. Don Baylor’s pinch-hit two-run homer off Mike Marshall in the bottom of the eighth was the key hit. Gil Hodges drove in three for the Dodgers. Box score
Game 5: Dodgers 1, at Angels 0. In a classic pitcher’s duel, Koufax pitched a two-hitter and struck out 11 to defeat Ryan, who struck out 12 but gave up a home run to Beltre in the second. Box score
Game 6: at Dodgers 2, Angels 1. Steve Garvey’s two-run single in the fourth provided all the offense Drysdale and Gagne needed. Box score
Game 7: Angels 3, at Dodgers 2. Anderson’s homer was the key, but the Angels tied the score in the seventh when Tim Salmon hit a solo shot. Box score
