Four straight days of rain have caused widespread destruction in Colorado, captured in some remarkable photos by residents. Scroll down to take a look.
Officials have reported three deaths Thursday morning in the deluge, which has wiped away roads, stranded motorists, and led to emergency orders for residents in some areas to seek higher ground.
Below are a few images and videos from Boulder, Colo., where residents and officials have shared photos of walkways turned into waterfalls and tunnels turned into rivers.
A few students from the University of Colorado, perhaps disregarding better judgment, have documented some of their attempted stunts in the rain, including biking in floodwater.
“The city of Boulder is just overwhelmed with water,” Barbara Halpin, a spokeswoman for the Boulder Office of Emergency Management, told the Los Angeles Times on Thursday morning. “I’ve heard from people who say they have lived here for 25 years and have never seen anything like it.”
