Fiery crash involving 2 big rigs closes westbound 210 Freeway

A fiery crash involving two semi trucks shut down all westbound lanes on the 210 Freeway in Glendale early Tuesday as crews scrambled to clean up the debris before rush hour.
The trucks collided on the westbound 210 just east of Lowell Avenue at about 12:03 a.m. “and one became fully engulfed” in flames, said California Highway Patrol Officer Jennifer Cassidy.
Cassidy said alcohol was not suspected to have played a role in the crash.
Crews are hoping to have all lanes open by 6:30 a.m., the CHP said.
[Updated, 7:25 a.m. PST Dec. 17: Several lanes have reopened as crews continue to clean up the wreckage and resulting fuel spill, the CHP said.
Traffic was backed up and slow from La Crescenta Avenue, and a Sigalert remained in place as the two right lanes, as well as the Pennsylvania Avenue offramp, remained closed.]
