Road closures, traffic ahead of West Hollywood Halloween festival
Tens of thousands of costumed revelers and onlookers are expected to attend the annual West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval celebration Monday.
The annual festival, which has a disco theme this year, will take place along Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., organizers said.
Bars and restaurants along the route will throw parties and host live music. Five stages will feature deejays spinning disco music.
Multiple road closures are expected to snarl traffic around the event:
San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue will be closed from 12 a.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Santa Monica Boulevard between North Doheny Drive and Holloway Drive/Croft Avenue will be closed from noon Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
La Cienega Boulevard will be closed to traffic at 4 p.m. Monday.
Sections of Robertson Boulevard, Almont Drive and La Peer Drive will also be closed between noon Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday. Alleyways along Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue will also be closed from midnight Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday.
