Suspect killed in deputy-involved shooting in San Gabriel Valley
A suspect was dead and another person was taken into custody after a deputy-involved shooting in an unincorporated area adjacent to West Covina, authorities said Thursday night.
The suspect was struck at least once and pronounced dead at the scene in the 19100 block of Elberland Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
No deputies were injured. Homicide detectives were dispatched to the scene. No additional details were immediately available.
Since January 2007, at least 286 people have been slain in officer-involved shootings across Los Angeles County, according to The Times’ Homicide Report database.
