Mobile THC-oil lab found inside U-Haul during Fullerton traffic stop, CHP says
Two men were arrested early Monday in Fullerton after authorities pulled over a U-Haul truck they said was being used as a clandestine lab for THC oil production, according to police.
California Highway Patrol officers noticed a thick brown liquid leaking from the back of the truck while it was being driven on the westbound 91 Freeway near Brookhurst Road at 1:15 a.m. They stopped the vehicle off the freeway and smelled a strong chemical odor, police said.
When officers looked inside the truck, they found what they initially thought was a mobile methamphetamine lab. A hazmat crew tested the substance and determined it contained THC oil. Tetrahydrocannabinol is the primary psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.
Brookhurst Road remained closed for several hours from Orangethorpe Avenue to the 91 Freeway while authorities investigated the scene. The names of the two men in the vehicle were not immediately available.
