Man slain in Inglewood shooting; detectives seek motive

A man was gunned down in Inglewood and pronounced dead at a trauma center, police said Tuesday night.
The victim was shot multiple times near a bus stop by West Beach Avenue and Venice Way. He was believed to be in his mid-20s, said Lt. Mark Fried of the Inglewood Police Department.
Fried said homicide detectives were at the scene gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
HOMICIDE REPORT: A story for every victim
The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately clear. “We don’t have any suspect information,” Fried said.
At least 140 homicides have been reported in Inglewood since January 2007, according to The Times Homicide Report. Nearly 90% of the victims died of gunshot wounds.
