Authorities have determined that some of the remains discovered near Palmdale on Thursday are human, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The county coroner’s office identified the remains Friday. It is unclear whether the human bones belong to more than one person, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies responded to a call about the remains, which were discovered in the 30900 block of 106th Street in Littlerock, about 3:55 p.m., said Sheriff’s Deputy Morgan Arteaga.
The Sheriff’s Department didn’t say how or where the remains were found. Officials do not know how long the bones have been in the area.
