Santa Clarita brush fire consumes 100 acres

A brush fire that burned 100 acres in Santa Clarita is now 90% contained, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Fire erupted about noon near Sierra Highway and Golden Valley Road and was fanned by light winds.
With helicopters dropping water on its flank, firefighters were able to get the upper hand shortly after 3 p.m..
