Man stabbed to death in East Compton; sheriff’s detectives investigating

A man was stabbed to death Thursday in East Compton, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives found the man with multiple stab wounds to the upper torso in the 4200 block of East Compton Boulevard shortly after 4 p.m., said sheriff’s Lt. Steve Jauch.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, Jauch said. He was not identified.
Detectives believe the attacker fled east on Compton Boulevard, Jauch said.
No arrests have been been made and an investigation is ongoing, Jauch said. No other information on the suspect was released.

According to the Times Homicide Report, 199 people have been killed this year in Los Angeles County as of April 23.
