Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 20 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of Los Angeles Police Department data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.
Twelve neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Gramercy Park (A) was the most unusual, recording 10 reports compared with a weekly average of 3.2 over the last three months.
Mission Hills (M) topped the list of 10 neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 17 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 7.4 over the last three months.
Two neighborhoods triggered alerts for violent and property crime.
Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Aug. 26–Sept. 1, the most recent seven days for which data are available. This post was automatically created by an algorithm written by the authors.
