Earthquake: 3.9 quake strikes near Gilroy

A shallow magnitude 3.9 earthquake was reported Monday morning four miles from Gilroy, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 2:05 a.m. PST at a depth of 3.7 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was nine miles from Hollister and 11 miles from Watsonville.
In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
