Getting Friendly with Fungi is the topic of the Sherman Library & Gardens Lunch & Lecture series for September. Mycologist Joanne Schwartz describes methods for locating and identifying wild mushrooms in Southern California. Her recent collecting has focused on the Channel Islands, where she is leading a fungal DNA bar code sequencing project. Lunch and lecture $25 members, $35 nonmembers.
