Swim with the Sharks at Golden Nugget
Imagine swimming inches away from sharks and other marine live … right in downtown Las Vegas.
Yep, that’s now reality at the Tank, the $30-millon pool at the Golden Nugget. Five species of sharks and various game fish fill a 200,000-gallon shark aquarium, which is the centerpiece of a three-story pool complex, complete with waterfalls and a killer water slide that speeds you right through the middle of the aquarium.
Shark species include sand tiger sharks, brown sharks, Pacific blacktip sharks, nurse sharks and a zebra shark. There are also southern stingrays and a wide variety of large game fish in the colorful reef habitat.
Nearby is Dive Bar at the Tank, a poolside bar offering specialty cocktails, three live gaming tables, seven private cabanas, daybeds and a retail kiosk (in case you forgot your sun block or shark-repellant). Also nearby is the H2O poolside lounge, which brings a fun, lounge atmosphere to the Golden Nugget.
Put it all together and you’ve got what Forbes Traveler calls one of the “top 10 pools in the world.”
