The American Institute of Architects officially announces winners of its national housing awards on Tuesday, but we got a sneak peek at the winners list.The AIA received about 200 entries in four housing categories this year. From that pool, 18 winners were honored.

The natural views to the interior courtyard are well composed and create a sense of space and seclusion in spite of the urban context. ... Wood warms the concrete in a truly Californian expression.
