The American Institute of Architects officially announces winners of its national housing awards on Tuesday, but we got a sneak peek at the winners list.The AIA received about 200 entries in four housing categories this year. From that pool, 18 winners were honored.
Jury comments: Crisp and sculptural, exquisitely detailed, it evokes a remarkable sense of nature in the middle of the city. ... The natural views to the interior courtyard are well composed and create a sense of space and seclusion in spite of the urban context. ... Wood warms the concrete in a truly Californian expression.
