Las Vegas: Finding the latest in bike equipment at Interbike
The annual giant toy box for bicyclists — the Interbike trade show, crammed with bicycles, gadgets, clothing and components from kid’s trikes to racing bikes with five-figure price tags — is on at the convention center at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
The show is usually limited to exhibitors, dealers and the bike press. But this year, they’re throwing the doors wide open to the public on Friday only, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you want to see everything, you’ll have to be pretty much on the move the whole time. Admission is $20.
Many of the major bike manufacturers, both U.S.-based and foreign, are at the show, but two of the biggies skip the event — Trek and Cannondale, which host private events for their dealers.
Here’s just a few of the new and otherwise cool items on display at Interbike.
