Blind Children’s Center
The Blind Children’s Center is the only preschool of its kind in Los Angeles County, a nurturing early learning environment offering an array of completely FREE programs specifically aimed at school readiness for children of all abilities – birth through 5 years old – with specific focus on those who are blind or visually impaired. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1938 by a dedicated volunteer group of Delta Gamma alumnae from Southern California as an outgrowth of their “Service for Sight” initiative.
Since the late 1980s, we have been a leader in inclusive early childhood education, integrating children who are typically developing in each class and providing unique opportunities for social interaction and learning. We remain committed to a family-focused approach where parents, siblings and grandparents are included in the educational process every step of the way and benefit from additional services, such as caregiver support sessions and medical patient navigation.
