Latino achievements in television to be saluted by Paley Center
The Paley Center for Media has announced its Hollywood Tribute to Hispanic Achievements in Television, saluting notable contributions made by Latinos in a wide array of television genres including drama, comedy, telenovelas, news, sports and music covering seven decades.
Included in the program will be a special tribute to the legendary Desi Arnaz by his daughter, Lucie Arnaz.
The ceremony will take place Oct. 24 at the Beverly Wilshire hotel. Oscar De La Hoya, Hector Elizondo, Andy García, Gina Rodriguez, Jimmy Smits and Wilmer Valderrama are among the celebrities slated to participate.
Executives for the center said that the event will celebrate critically acclaimed programs of historical importance, pay homage to creative visionaries— including producers, writers and directors from the Hollywood community — and feature iconic Hollywood talent across generations, recognizing the contributions of legacy stars and today’s most influential names.
