Art: The Residents at the El Rey
Now entering their fourth decade as faceless anti-stars, the avant-garde multimedia art collective the Residents brings its masked musical act to the Southland for a rare live appearance. The band’s signature eyeball helmets and tuxes have given way to three new characters, Randy, Chuck and Bob, which features singer “Randy” in an old man mask, accompanied by two cohorts wearing dreadlock wigs and optical gear. The El Rey, 5515 Wilshire Blvd., L.A. 8 p.m. Sat. $25. (323) 936-6400. https://www.theelrey.com.
