Jilted “Bachelor” contestant Melissa Rycroftshook what her momma gave her on Monday’s season premiere and opened up about the new man in her post-Jason life. At this point the scoreboard reads Melissa: 2, Jason Mesnick: -100. You go girl! (Kelsey McNeal / Associated Press)
The latest in the show’s new twists: the Judges’ Save, a one-time get-out-of-elimination card that the panel can use to save the lowest vote-getter between now and when there are five singers left. “Idol” producers used examples of people like Tamyra Gray, Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry who might have been helped by such a veto power.
