Christopher Plummer one-man show coming to Ahmanson Theatre in 2014
Christopher Plummer will bring his one-man show “A Word or Two” to Los Angeles for a brief engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre next year. Center Theatre Group announced on Tuesday that Plummer is scheduled to perform 16 shows from Jan. 19 to Feb. 9.
“A Word or Two” ran at the Stratford Festival in Canada in 2012. The stage production tells the story of Plummer’s lifelong fascination with the written and spoken word, and features the octogenarian actor reciting pieces by W.H. Auden, Lewis Carroll, William Shakespeare and many more.
The production is directed by Des McAnuff, a Tony Award winner for “Jersey Boys.” McAnuff has served as the artistic director of the La Jolla Playhouse and the Stratford Festival.

Plummer -- whose film career includes “The Sound of Music” and his Oscar-winning turn in 2010’s “Beginners” -- appeared at the Ahmanson in “Barrymore” in 1998.
“A Word or Two” will be presented at the Ahmanson in association with the Stratford Festival.
The Ahmanson’s new season is set to begin in September with a production of Neil Simon’s “The Sunshine Boys” starring Danny DeVito and Judd Hirsch.
