Toby Huss of ‘Halt and Catch Fire’ lists house in Highland Park

Toby Huss of the new AMC series “Halt and Catch Fire” has listed a historic home in Highland Park at $850,000.

With its boxy design, center dormer window and wide front porch, the American Foursquare-style house, built in 1907, is typical of the style that took hold between the late 1890s and 1930s.

Like so much of L.A. housing, a peep into property records reveals a slice of Hollywood history. The place was home to prolific screenwriter Kathryn Scola in the 1950s. She co-wrote “Baby Face” (1933), starring Barbara Stanwyck.

The restored home includes such period details as oak flooring, built-ins, two fireplaces with vintage tile work and original hardware. The 2,274 square feet of living space includes four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The lot, which is smaller than a quarter of an acre, contains a guesthouse, a swimming pool and a koi pond.

Huss, 47, has scores of acting and voice work credits. He was in “The Adventures of Pete & Pete,” and “Reno 911!,” and he did various voices for the cartoon “King of the Hill” for more than a dozen years.

The actor bought the property less than a year ago for the current asking price.
