Former U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk, who has enjoyed great successes on the Hawaiian Islands throughout his career, has priced his golf course estate in Maui at $5.995 million.
Found between fairways of the Plantation course at Kapalua, where Furyk won the Mercedes-Benz Championship in 2001, the property has a 4,090-square-foot main residence, a two-bedroom guesthouse, an infinity pool and sweeping views of the island of Molokai on about two and a half acres.
The open-space floor plan, with arched-beam ceilings and stone accents, features a chef’s kitchen, a living room, an office, a workout room and two master suites. Designed for indoor-outdoor living, sliding glass doors off of formal areas open to a covered patio with a barbecue and a fireplace.
Elsewhere on the landscaped grounds is a stone-lined hot tub. A large motor court runs through a porte-cochere at the front of the residence.
The golfer purchased the property in 1999 for $940,000, according to County of Maui records, with the home and accompanying guest home completed in 2001.
Robert R. Myers of Elite Pacific Properties has the listing.
Furyk, who has made more than $64 million his career, has 16 career wins on the PGA Tour, including a major championship at the 2003 U.S. Open. The 44-year-old finished 2014 ranked the seventh-best golfer in the world.
He owns other property in Hawaii as well as residences in Ponte Verde, Fla., and Park City, Utah.
