Washington Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez has listed his home, which features an indoor-outdoor pool with water features, in South Florida for sale at $1.95 million.
The property, built in 1944, occupies 4.4 acres in Southwest Ranches with a ranch-style house, an attached guest house, a basketball/tennis court and a pool. A large motor court runs underneath a porte-cochere at the front of the residence.
Clad in marble and slate, the single-story floor plan includes formal living spaces, a dining room, a chef’s kitchen with two islands, a solarium, six bedrooms and six full bathrooms in more than 7,400 square feet.
A section of the outdoor pool has been pulled into a living room area with a billiards table and wet bar and is separated by a telescoping wall of glass.
Gonzalez, 28, is now in this third season with the Nationals since being acquired from the Oakland A’s in 2011. A two-time All-Star, he is 6-9 with a 4.06 ERA in 20 starts this season.
Property records show that the left-handed pitcher purchased the home in February 2012 for $1.425 million. Richard Masterson of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty is the listing agent.
