Video: New ‘Gone Girl’ trailer: Creepy and with Neil Patrick Harris
Gillian Flynn’s bestselling novel “Gone Girl” is coming to screens in October. The thriller is about a man whose wife disappears; he goes from sympathetic, distraught husband to suspect.
Ben Affleck stars as Nick Dunne. Nick’s wife, Amy, is played by Rosamund Pike. The cast includes Tyler Perry and Kim Dickens -- and, quite prominently in the new trailer, Neil Patrick Harris.
Harris, fresh off a Tony Award for playing the flamboyant glam Hedwig in the Broadway production of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” is seen in a very different light in “Gone Girl.” That light, in the hands of director David Fincher, has a greenish cast. And it’s pretty creepy.
“I wanted to help,” a subdued Harris says to Affleck.
Of course, it’s Affleck who appears to be at the center of a tightening set of clues. Take a look in the trailer above; the film opens Oct. 3.
