Polygamy: It isn’t just relegated to remote desert compounds and HBO comedy-dramas. The new docu-series “Sister Wives” introduces viewers to the Browns, a suburban family with one husband, three — going on four — wives, and 13 kids. (TLC, 10 p.m.)

MONDAY

You’re an indigenous person, living in the Americas over 500 years ago, and standing at the seashore, you see something strange: A ship, carrying Spanish explorers. What follows is detailed in the new documentary “When Worlds Collide.” (KCET, 9 p.m.)

TUESDAY

It’s Britney and Betty, babies. Ms. Spears (below right, with Heather Morris) puts in a cameo on “Glee,” while dame du jour Betty White does the career retrospective thang on “Inside the Actors Studio.” (Fox, 8 p.m.; Bravo, 8 p.m.)

WEDNESDAY

The original “L&O” may have clanged its last clang, but the franchise continues to thrive. After the season premiere of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” it’s the debut of the spinoff series “Law & Order: Los Angeles.” (NBC, 9 and 10 p.m.)

THURSDAY

Got H2O? You wouldn’t last three days without it. The new documentary special “Liquid Assets: The Big Business of Water” explores the increasing commodification and capitalization of this most vital and precious of fluids. (CNBC, 6 and 10 p.m.)

FRIDAY

The new reality series “Teach: Tony Danza” tracks the misadventures of the former sitcom star as he embarks on a new career: English teacher at a Philadelphia high school. His parents always wanted him to have something to fall back on. (A&E, 10 p.m.)

SATURDAY

Oscar winner Sandra Bullock (below) portrays a steelier-than-thou Southern magnolia who mothers, mentors and motivates a homeless African American teen in the fact-based, football-themed, feel-good 2009 drama “The Blind Side.” (HBO, 8 and 11:15 p.m.)
