1909: Company’s maps traced for official use by county recorder
1935: Staff cuts amid Depression. Foreclosures dominate business
1941: During World War II, company survives on government-related work
1960: Renamed First American Title Insurance and Trust Co.; expands into Arizona
1964: First stock sale to the public
1965: First sale of title insurance outside continental U.S. — in Guam
1968: First American Financial Corp. formed as holding company
1982: Company expands to 50 states with purchase of St. Paul Title Insurance
1993: Stock begins trading on NYSE
2000: Acquires Credit Management Solutions
2005: Acquires real estate data firm LoanPerformance
2007: CoreLogic, a home-loan risk management and fraud-protections service, is acquired
2010: Company is set to split June 1 into insurer First American Financial Corp. and data/risk management firm CoreLogic
