Angels: Week Ahead
Monday through Wednesday: Kansas City Royals
Friday through Sunday: Toronto Blue Jays
Time is rapidly running out on the Angels’ playoff hopes. But given recent history, it’s going to be tough to make up ground any time soon. Although the Angels are six games over .500 in the AL West, they have a losing record against the rest of the league — bad news, given the fact they play only six games in their division over the next month. And beginning with the Blues Jays’ series this week, they play 12 consecutive games against clubs with winning records. By the way, under Manager Mike Scioscia, the Angels have never finished with a losing record against both the AL East and Central. The last time it happened was 1999 when they were 50-76 outside of their division while finishing last in the West.
