A star-studded Michael Jackson tribute concert scheduled to take place at the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna on Sept. 26 has been canceled, organizers told reporters Friday, citing scheduling problems.
Instead, event promoter George Kindel said the concert will take place at London’s Wembley Stadium next year, marking the first anniversary of Jackson’s death.
Kindel and Jackson’s brother Jermaine had announced at a news conference this week a heavyweight talent roster they said would include Akon, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown and Natalie Cole. But on Wednesday, representatives for Blige, Brown and Cole denied that any of the three would perform at the benefit.
The promoter said tickets for the Vienna concert would be refunded.
