Inge’s slam caps Tigers’ late rally

ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. — Brandon Inge hit a grand slam in the ninth inning and Detroit defeated Tampa Bay, 5-3, Sunday to complete a sweep of a three-game series.
The Tigers won their sixth game in a row and have a seven-game lead over second-place Minnesota in the American League Central.
Edwin Jackson (12-6) went eight innings for Detroit, which overcame a 3-1 deficit in the ninth against five relievers.
Tampa Bay’s Evan Longoria hit a career-high 28th home run.
