Three Canadian soldiers were killed and two were wounded in southern Afghanistan when their armored vehicle triggered a roadside bomb, military officials said.
The incident took place about six miles northwest of Kandahar as the troops were conducting security operations.
Canada has now lost 111 soldiers since sending forces to Afghanistan in late 2002.
Canada has 2,700 troops in Kandahar on a mission against a Taliban resurgence. The mission is due to end in 2011.
