CALIFORNIA BRIEFING / LOS ANGELES
A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge on Monday placed “Columbo” star Peter Falk under the conservatorship of his wife but ordered that his daughter be allowed to visit her ailing father every two months.
Catherine Falk will be allowed to see her 81-year-old father for a maximum of half an hour at a time at a neighbor’s home to avoid conflict between the daughter and Falk’s current wife, Shera Falk, said Catherine Falk’s attorney, Troy Martin. She filed a petition for the conservatorship last December, asking that she be put in charge of her father.
Judge Aviva Bobb interrupted the second day of hearings and ordered attorneys to work out an agreement in her chambers, Martin said. Peter Falk, who suffers from dementia, has not appeared in court for the proceedings.
