CALIFORNIA BRIEFING

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has again extended the deadline for a bipartisan commission charged with overhauling the state’s tax code to complete its work and bring recommendations to lawmakers. The commission, which originally had intended to finish work in the spring, now has until at least September.
The governor also announced that he will call the Legislature into special session to consider the proposals of the Commission on the 21st Century Economy once they are complete.
