A former Guantanamo Bay detainee who became an Al Qaeda field commander has surrendered and been handed over to Saudi authorities.
Abu Hareth Mohammed Oufi was one of two Saudis released from Guantanamo who emerged as Al Qaeda operatives in a video released a day after President Obama signed an executive order to close the prison within a year.
